The BJP and Women : Supports of ‘sati’

The "sati sthal" in 1987 guarded by Rajput youth brandishing swords.

ON September 4, 1987, 17-year-old Roop Kanwar consigned herself to flames or was burnt alive at Deorala village of Sikar district in Rajasthan. This infamous incident came to be referred to as the "sati" case. Sixteen years later, on January 31, 2004, a Special Court acquitted, for lack of evidence, 11 persons, including Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislator and State party vice-president Rajendra Singh Rathore, charged with glorifying the incident as one of sati.

The London Summit 2009 : $1.1 Trillion package

April 01-02, 2009, G20 heads met in London for 'The London Summit 2009' with the caption stability, growth and jobs. It's the third high level meeting since present global crisis, the first one is World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2009 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland held between 28 January - 1 February 2009, the second is G20 finance ministers, bankers meet in London on March 13 2009. G20 heads meet in London is the third. There is no concrete solution to fix the problem in these 3 meetings.

In London summit, the president Obama conceded that there were 'no guarantees' that those measures would reverse the biggest global downturn in six decades.

G20 planned to pump $1.1 Trillion to Tackle Crisis.
China is expected to contribute $40 billion. Japan and the European Union each pledged $100 billion.
The United States has said it will contribute $100 billion, too, though that requires Congressional approval.

G20 tries to treat some peripheral effects of the crisis rather than its thorniest causes.
The causes are finance deregulation, hedge fund mis(management) and unregulated flow finance capital.
Such capitalist crisis can NOT be averted in capitalism.
